After the fun adventure of the previous night, we were surprisingly awake and ready to go. The fishies survived the night without their heater and filter running, I don't think there having the greatest time but they're hanging in there. We packed up camp and headed backwards to Harrisburg, to the capital building.
I got to show Nick the statues out front that my Great Grandfather sculpted. It was nice to see them again, kind of like seeing old friends again. We then took a self guided tour of the entry room and the House and Senate Galleries: It is amazing the detail and thought that went into every little piece of that building. Once we had enough of incredible art and architecture we got back in the car and headed south again...or so we thought until we passed a miniature statue of liberty in the river and thought "hey, they must have a bunch of these, we just saw one this morning on our way from the campground back to Harrisburg!" Then it hit us that it was the very same statue we had seen that morning and that we were almost all the way back to the campground. Ugh. On our second pass we managed to not miss the entrance to I 81 south. Then we drove, then we drove some more and then we kept on driving. We finished book two of The Hunger Games and started book three. There were no more balsam fir trees to be seen anywhere, I was surprised to miss them, but the flowering trees and green grass did a lot to make up for it.
We decided that a good nights sleep was in order, so we found a motel along the highway just before Nashville TN. It was a good idea, but Nick's calf muscles were tight and bothering him all night so he didn't sleep all that well. If anyone has any suggestions for him please let us know!:)
